Went for a walk down by the Xcel Center to see what was going on with the preparations for the RNC. Lots has changed in the last week or so downtown.


There are TV crews on the tops of parking ramps.


And CNN has even taken over a restaurant across the street from the Xcel. What once was the Eagle Street Grill is now CNN Grill. They have taken all of the markings off the building and put up all of their own signs.

I found out tonight that not only can we not drive our normal route to work/school, but we will not be able to ride our bikes either. We are going to have to drive and extra three miles a day and will face lots of extra traffic. Oh we could still ride bikes if we wanted to ride much steeper hills and go around the restricted area. Thankfully this is only for a few days.
