At last weeks Church softball game Jeremy hit a long ball to the outfield and got a home run (I will try to get a video of him running because he is sooo fast) anyway here is a video of him sliding into home. Central won both of the games last week bringing their record to 4 wins 2 losses. Good luck tonight Central.

The ball season is over for another year. The team battled hard, played their best and finished the season. We are not going to talk about wins and losses, as the girls have had to learn to loss gracefully this year. The coaches have said that this is the most talented overall team they have coached, they don't understand why they didn't win more games. Many of the losses came with-in just one or two runs. I am so proud of Ashley who stepped up to the challenge of catcher. Kylee having only minimal experience pitching was fa nominal! Way to go girls!

Now a few weeks off before summer ball starts. They are going to be playing with the Rookies, a number one ranked team in Minnesota. They are going to learn so much as a lot of the girls on the team have played college ball.

Our church has a slow pitch team and this year Liz, her boyfriend Caleb, Ashley and Kylee are playing. Michelle's husband Jeremy is also playing. This is Ashley and Kylee's first year but Liz and Caleb have played for a while now. This is a picture of Caleb at bat in the game last week. Central won both games.



At tonights game there was this really creepy bug. All the kids were fascinated by it. Ezra wanted to take it home with him.

Here is a clip of the thing climbing the fence, after it had tried to climb into Ashley's bag. By the way the bug was not alone, there were at least three more of them flying, climbing, and scooting on the ground by the end of the game. I don't know what kind of bug it is so if anyone does know tell me. I am going to ask the science teacher at school to id the thing and will let you know.

I love watching my kids play softball. But, I seem to be a magnet for the ball and getting hurt at games. I think I get hit or almost hit at most games and today's game was no different. Before the game while Kylee was warming up I got in the way of a slightly wild pitch. I have a nice egg on the inner part of my left wrist. It has not bruised yet but it really hurts. This is much better than the last game of last summers season when I actually was hit in the butt by a foul ball during the first game of the day and then on my way back to the park to watch the next game I fell and broke three fingers on my right hand. Two surgeries and six months of physical therapy my hand is still not the same.

Kylee did a great job pitching and Ashley was outstanding job at catcher. They played a full 7 innings and lost by only one run.

Ashley is having great success at the plate. She hit two home runs in their game against Central. She played Short Stop in the gave against St. Agnes. This is not her favorite position to play but she seems to have an ability to pay almost any position and so the coaches are using her all over the field. She was a key player in almost ten of the outs.

Ashley hit her first home run of the season. Go Ashley!

When Kylee pitches she really makes funny faces. I didn't really notice this until I started taking pictures. I thought I would share some of the faces with you.

Yesterday was the first game of the season for Ashley and Kylee. Here is Kylee on second base. She got on base as the first batter in the line-up with a bunt, and eventually scored the first run of the game.

Well the season is underway in Minnesota, which means that Ashley and Kylee have a game on Monday and have still not been able to practice outside because of snow on the field. I went to their practice today and took some pictures that I thought I would share. Ashley has played outfield, shortstop, and catcher. I think that she is going to be used as catcher most of this season. Kylee has played third, first, outfield and pitches. It looks like Kylee will be used as pitcher most of this season.
